Gibson F-4, c.1938, oval hole, 2 point Artist model, lacquered dk sunburst carved spruce top with fancy rosette, bound choc.brown figured maple sides & back, truss rod mahogany neck, bound ebony fbd with pearl dot inlays has slight radius so likely a replacement, pearl ‘Gibson’ & diamond phd inlay, nickel pltd hardware, ‘The Gibson’ tailpiece cover, adjustable ebony bridge, tuners are 1950s Gibson replacements, missing pickguard, minor repaired heel crack is stable and barely noticeable, no body cracks or other issues, this rare late example has easy low action with bright tone & strong projection (heading towards F-5 territory), VGC, cool original ‘redline’ HC.
