Gibson A-3, c.1920, oval hole, carved & bound ‘ivory’ lacquered spruce top with fancy rosette, bound ‘red mahogany’ stained birch b/s, mahogany neck, bound ebony fbd with pearl dots, ebonised phd overlay with pearl ‘The Gibson’ & curlicue inlays, cool ‘ivoroid’ pickguard, nickel pltd hardware, ‘The Gibson’ stamped tailpiece, solid ebony bridge, a player’s grade example of short lived model (1918-1922 in this spec), back has been reglued with some rebinding and refinish but no cracks or other repair work, plays easy and sounds great with typical rich Gibson tone and projection, VG, 1960s Gibson case.
