Boston, USA, c.1902, 28” scale, 11 7/8” thin maple rim, maple neck, ebony fbd with engraved pearl inlays, ebonised pearwood phd overlay with engraved pearl ‘gryphon’ inlay, patent ‘Electric’ tonering, ‘Fairbanks’ plate on dowel stick, original nickel plated hardware with ‘no knot’ tpce has been finely replated & woodwork refinished, looks to have lower section of the heel replaced, set up with calfskin head & Nylgut strings, extremely rare early model with pearl engraving by master artisan Icilio Consalvi, easy action & wondrous resonant tone, VGC, HC.
