Clifford Essex ‘Concert Grand’ (London):. SOLD

c.1910s? ‘Imperial’ style natural maple neck (stamped ‘Concert Grand’), rosewood fbd with fine engraved pearl inlays, scalloped flathead tonering (copy of Fairbanks Whyte Laydie), stained maple close fitting resonator (no flanges) with rosewood banding which has been extensively rebuilt, new geared tuners, metalwork is worn, rare (possibly unique) TB version of usually 5 string CE top model (until Paragon), a very few tenor Concert Grands have surfaced but all (?) have later Paragon ‘30s style necks so this is likely a ‘one off’ custom order, plays easy and sounds wonderful for Celtic (or jazz) stylings, VGC, period hard case.
