Gibson K-2 mandocello:.. SOLD

c.1911, A style, 14” body, 25” scale, oval soundhole, black lacquered spruce top & dk red maple b/s, natural mahogany neck with ebony fbd & pearl dots, ebony phd overlay with pearl ‘The Gibson’ & abalone ‘fleur-de-lis’ inlay, bound body & neck, splendid original ‘Handel’ tuners with inlaid buttons, original tailpiece, fitted pickup with endpin jack socket, bridge has been raised slightly so action quite high (not sure why), missing pickguard, plenty of checking & playwear in the finish but no structural damage or repairs except for possible reglue to part of back centre seam, a rare find with great sonorous tone & projection, VGC, modern guitar HC.
